Yesterday I had a wonderful time at the Westport Historical Society. We had a high tea with real cucumber sandwiches, meringues and homemade almond tarts. I spoke and read and signed…. thanks to everybody who came! And thanks to Amy Mortenson who took this great photo for the Connecticut Post and the Westport News.

The Book Aunt (because other people give you clothes and video games) wrote a terrific review of Prisoners in the Palace. She liked the intrigue which keeps getting “intriguier!”
Read it and check out her other reviews too — very thoughtful and I particularly like her guide for worried parents at the end.
Royal Reviews was kind enough to say that Prisoners in the Palace is an amazing read. And then I got to do a guest post, “It’s a Maid’s Life…” After all — who expects to read about the servants on a royal website?
Grace at Books Like Breathing just gave Prisoners in the Palace a lovely review. It made me so happy because the parts she liked are my favorites too! Check it out!
YA Bliss is organizing an historical fiction reading challenge…. I’m committed to reading 15 historical fiction novels next year. A piece of cake!
It’s an honor to be part of this quirky and charming list.
Come join me and three fabulous middle grade authors — Ann Haywood Leal, Jame Richards and Laura Toffler-Corrie — at Barnes and Noble in Westport CTat 2:00 on Sunday December 5th. We’ll be talking about our books and signing them. Mention the Bedford Middle School Bookfair and Barnes and Noble donates a portion of the sales!
