Take a look. This work by Italian artist Mario Mariotti and it’s spectacular. I bet you’ll wonder (like me)… HOW?

The Boston Globe has a Summer Reading List (guess who’s on it?)
The Boston Globe publishes a gleefully non-required summer reading list. Promise the Night is on it! And I have to say the other books are fabulous — including Bitterblue by Kristin Cahore and Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein — so I’m very honored to be included!
Rest In Peace Ray Bradbury
I was so saddened to hear of Ray Bradbury’s death. Although he lived a full life and touched soooo many people — the world feels a bit diminished now that he’s gone. And his death comes hard on the heels of Jean Craighead George (My Side of the Mountain and Julie of the Wolves) and of course the inestimable Maurice Sendak. I grew up with these writers — they had as much influence over me as any teacher. In fact, possibly more because I can go back to them… I can share them with my kids. There is some solace in that they paved the way for the rest of us and many future writers. Still, I’m sad today.
(I have a black cat just like his! His name is MoMo)
