Maria Reiche spent 40 years unearthing new geoglyphs, but new technology has made it easier to spot them in the hills around the Nazca desert. Using satellites, drones, even crowd-sourcing glyph-spotting - we have found many new glyphs. In 2020 we even discovered one in plain sight. This cat had been on the side of the hill overlooking some popular glyphs. A handyman noticed the tell-tale buildup of stones on the edge of a geoglyph. He took his find to the site archeologist who confirmed that there was indeed a charming cat hiding on the hill. To read more about it, check out this article.
